Prayers today...for my mom

A personal request as we venture into this day.  My sweet mother is headed into surgery as this is posting.  Please take a moment and say a prayer for her...I know I've been asking folks to pray, pray, pray but I believe that we are to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17) so I will continue to ask anyone who will join me in prayer today.   My mom had been having trouble with her abdomen for several months, two weeks ago an ultrasound found a large mass growing there.  This mass is pushing on all her organs and making life physically uncomfortable.These last 4 weeks have been so, so hard on my family.  On November 28th my uncle Dana (mom's younger brother) passed away suddenly from a heart attack. His story can be found here and here.  My entire family took this loss hard and we are all still grieving. Our attention now turns to helping support my mother during her recovery.My parents will celebrate 40 years of marriage this coming June...there isn't a day that my mom and dad don't laugh, hold hands, or take a walk together. I am filled with gratitude that they have each other in times of joy and times of pain. I know my dad will be at my mom's bedside day and night until he see's her through this.  That is just how selfless he is.
