I was informed that this session was to be a surprise...so I was secret squirrel until now!

Jenn called me to set up our session well in advance, making sure we knew where to meet, what they would wear and how we would coordinate the session with a toddler in tow (because we all know how that goes!!). On the day of we had the perfect overcast sky, warm late Summer breeze and plenty of bribes for the kids.

Can I just say that I really love it when clients purchase sessions as gifts for loved ones?  I  can preach all I want about preserving memories, and I think that we all see the value in it.    When I meet with families, I don't necessarily want to create just images but I want to be able to try and catch the relationships between the folks in the images.   That's where there is meaning, in the relationship.  When Jenn is snuggling with her sons, the hugs that Aunty gives her nephews.  The knowing laughter between brothers and the little jabs that siblings will take at each other to encourage a genuine smile.  Those are the things that I take away from a session.

Thanks for meeting up with Jenn and crew! I hope that your mother was truly blessed by these images!!
