Over the last four years, her family has become special to ours, offering support during COVID, assisting in creating my new website, and hiring me for preschool photos. Our lives have intertwined in various ways, and meeting at Dickman Mills park along the Tacoma waterfront for a photoshoot during a beautiful August sunset captured the essence of our connection amidst the stunning Puget Sound backdrop.

Last summer in Hawaii, I seized the opportunity to photograph my sister-in-law's family on Kalapaki Beach with my Nikon f100 35mm camera. In just 25 minutes and one roll of film, we captured a delightful mix of family and kids' portraits, as well as sweet candid moments, highlighting the beauty of spontaneous connections that will be cherished for years.

Our family trip looked a little different in 2023. We spent four weeks in Hawaii, exploring the Mahaulepu Heritage Trail, Dry Caves, Hanalei Pier, Wailua River, Fern Grotto, Wiamea Canyon, and enjoying local treats, creating cherished memories with family on the beautiful island of Kauai.

Photographers get booked to document these shifts in life, usually joyful, and provide evidence for generations to come that these moments, connections, and places are important to them and should be remembered.
