Fall in Cle Elum is absolutely breathtaking. The world shifts into yellows, gold, soft browns and red...the air smells different as the sun filters through the trees. Its as if the forest is taking a deep exhale before the wind and rains come settle in for the winter. There are so many textures that only visit once a year are something I cherish and want to hold onto. I suppose if there were here year round I would start to take them for granted.

I love taking my family to the mountains just before the weather turns, I feel like we start that transition to slowing down, focusing on creating family memories as we take long walks, pick the wild apples and visit our family farm. There is an amazing sense of community that my parents have there; I'm not going to lie, when I am there I often wonder if I could fit into that community.

When we were there last my sister and I went out for about an hour to shoot some film.  This post is actually a hybrid post with both film and digital images.  I've been playing around with the VSCO preset Kodak Gold 200, so I thought it would be fun to run a roll of the real thing through  my camera.  Since it was a new film I didn't really know what to expect or how it would handle the golden hour light and I'm pretty pleased with the results.
