Alex & Katie | Tacoma Engagement

During the summer of 2009 our dear friend Alex lived with us for three months.  I gave him one "job" for the summer...to water the baby plants we started from seeds in our shed that spring.  Every morning, without fail, Alex (coffee in hand) set out to water the tiny plants.  Sure enough, with the care and attention from Alex they grew.  One day he hurries back into the house to announce that "his" plants bloomed!! We celebrated with stogies on the deck that night (I may have smoked a clove instead...)!The following February Alex and Katie fell in love...I felt like a proud mom!  Alex and Katie have spent much of their relationship in different cities.  The time they get together is precious and it was fun to spend some time with them as a photographer/friend.  I've enjoyed watching Alex and Katie cultivate their relationship through struggles and triumphs. I got to see a rare glimpse into how they care for each other ~ Alex with gentleness and Katie with boldness.  What an honor to be a part of their journey towards marriage.
