Robert & Beverly || Tacoma Family Photographer

Its been almost two years since this session...and I have always remembered it as one of my favorites.   Its not the trendy, ethereal, floral and flowing sessions that I see featured lately.  It was a favorite because these two were celebrating 50 years of marriage and their story is one that should be told.   I loved being in their house, seeing the photos of their children, grandchildren, great-grand children, friends and pets on their refrigerator.  They have build a life in their home...a testimony to everyone they have met.  Around every corner, there was a story.

These are what I consider lifestyle sessions, the ones that are set up by their children who want to look back and remember who mom and dad were.  They aren't traditional poses, the hope is to be present during genuine moments between two people.   Funny thing about these two...they were dressed to the nines when I showed up.  Beverly was in a beautiful blue sweater, and Robert in a suit jacket complete with tie.  I was their photographer, and they were prepared to take some photos.  About 20 minutes into our session I asked them to change into something that their kids would recognize them in.  They immediately relaxed and I got to enjoy their company as a friend.

As 2014 is just beginning I encourage you to think about the legacies you want to preserve for your family.   I would love (love love love) to do more sessions like these in the future!!

**Robert & Beverly's story will also be told on Beloved, Darling sometime in March so stay tuned! **
